Laptops have become very powerful over the years. Gone are the days when the laptops were only used for business/office work or normal work. This is because now you can play the latest high-end games on laptops having good graphics cards. Most laptops do not come with graphics cards as they are dependent on onboard or integrated graphics, and those who come with dedicated graphics cards have a different range of GPUs starting from low-end to high-end.
Some laptops with graphics cards come with entry-level GPUs and some come with mid-range to high-end graphics cards or GPUs. Laptops with entry-level graphics cards are good for casual gaming, video editing, and watching Full HD and Blu-ray movies. Also, these laptops are relatively cheaper compared to gaming laptops with powerful graphics cards. On the other hand laptops with mid-range to high-end graphics cards are way more powerful and you can enjoy the latest games on mid to high graphics settings at 1080p. Below you can see a picture of a typical graphics card for a laptop.
Both AMD and Nvidia make graphics cards for laptops. These laptop graphics cards are also known as mobile GPUs because of their smaller size and use in mobile computers or laptops. Some Laptop Graphics Cards are MXM Graphics Cards and they connect in the Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM) slot of your laptop. You may be able to upgrade MXM Graphics Cards on some laptops but it really depends on the laptop model and manufacturer. Here in this post, I am going to list down the best laptop graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD for gaming, professional graphics work, and casual gaming.

What is Max-Q Nvidia Graphics Card in Laptop?
Nvidia Max-Q graphics card is the power-efficient variant of a standard graphics card (mostly high-end GPUs) used in laptops. These Max-Q Nvidia graphics cards are specified with the word Max-Q written after their model number e.g. GTX 1070 Max-Q or GTX 1080 Max-Q. These graphics cards are power efficient and generate less heat compared to their standard versions. Currently Max-Q graphics cards are available for GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti, GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080.
These Max-Q graphics cards are around 15% to 20% (up to 25% or maybe higher) slower than their standard variants, and their drivers are also optimized for efficiency rather than for performance. Max-Q graphics cards are used mainly in slim notebooks or thin laptops where cooling is a major challenge to handle the heat generated from these powerful GPUs. However, they still deliver good performance in games and other applications when compared to the mid-range or budget laptop graphics cards

In the end, I would like to tell you that if you are buying a laptop with a graphics card then you should know what GPU it has and how much power the graphics card is otherwise you will be wasting your money if it did not fit in your needs. For any queries regarding the laptop graphics card, please leave a comment below.

Hi I would like to ask advice on a small but powerful gaming graphics card for an Hp envy 23 d290 all in one pc…please leave a name or email…thank you
You can get GeForce GTX 1060 MXM Graphics Card if your all in one pc has MXM slot. Here is the link http://www.aetina.com.tw/products-detail.php?i=86.
I would like to ask if a 14″ Asus zenbook with AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.10 GHz
vega 8 graphics
Would be able to run the survival games, The Isle or Beast of Bermuda at all.
If not how may I upgrade my machine at a budget to meet the system requirements ?
Yes, you will be able to run them on low graphics settings but make sure that you have 8GB RAM.
I just bought a laptop with a GTX 1070 Max Q…I thought that was pretty good and a good deal as it was not as expensive as a GTX 1080. However it looks like MAX Q makes it different than a normal GTX 1080? Will that hold me back? I didn’t need something super high end but I wanted something that would last a bit. I did opt to go with a new Gen 8 I7 processor.
The MAX Q variants are around 10% to 15% slower than the regular variants and their drivers are also optimized for efficiency rather than for performance. However, they still deliver good performance and consume less power too. You should be fine with GTX 1070 Max Q even with latest games.
Thank you for the quick reply! I found your article very helpful as well.
I read somewhere that you can add an external graphics card to the the laptop?
Yes you can add external graphics card to laptop using eGPU box but for this your laptop requires a Thunderbolt port and it should also include support for external graphics cards. Check out this https://graphicscardhub.com/egpu-external-graphics-card/
Thank you. I have a 3.1 USB ports but not thunderbolt hmm looks like that may work too. Either way it sounds like I should be good for a while with the gtx 1070.
You should be totally fine with GTX 1070. Don’t worry!
72, retiring having too many years working with Photoshop & large format printing, now require a decent laptop with fast processor.
Considering i7 as i9 price/performance seems unjustified.
What can you recommend?
Not interested in gaming, DVDS, streaming etc.
Max RAM and 2Gb+ data storage, decent screen are the important features.
Anything off the shelf? ( as, with peripheral neuropathy, I can’t build)..
How much is your budget and what screen size would you prefer?
I just got a 10th gen I7 laptop and it is super-fast.
Nice and Congrats!
Has anyone read my request?
I suggest you to have a look at ASUS VivoBook S S510UA-DS71 Ultra Thin Laptop (Core i7-8550U processor, 8GB DDR4, 128GB+1TB, 15” WideView FHD)
I’m starting out in VFX Graphics learning MAYA, NUKE, AVID Media Composer, and other similar Software.
What is the best Laptop graphics card for a person with a limited budget?
Here is the configuration I’m looking at.
HP ProBook 470 G5 i7-8550u
16GB 1TB 17.3 Notebook
Memory Module Specifications
16GB DDR4 max 32GB
17.3″ 1600 x 900 Anti-Glare LED-backlit Processor Specifications Intel 8th Gen Core i7 Quad-Core 1.8GHz 8550U
NVIDIA GeForce 930MX 2GB DDR3
I think you should go for a GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1650.
Thank you. I’ll be purchasing a Laptop while I’m learning. I’ll search FOR HP, DELL, MSI. Are ASUS laptops good for VFX as well?
Yes, Asus laptops are good.
This is probably a stupid question, but if I never ask I will never learn.
My laptop is a i5 DELL Latitude 5590 with Intel UHD 620 onboard graphics. Is it possible to add a graphics card to such a model?
(I read somewhere that if a laptop has onboard graphics it cannot be changed.)
You can’t add an internal graphics card to a laptop unless it has a Mobile PCIe slot (MXM) https://graphicscardhub.com/mxm-graphics-card-gpu-list/. However, you can add an external graphics card to it using eGPU box, but that too is supported by select laptops and requires a Thunderbolt port. Read here https://graphicscardhub.com/egpu-external-graphics-card/
Thank you very much for a quick answer. 🙂
Need processor and graphics suggestions. Just started a two-person engineering firm. I’m looking for a laptop under $1000 that’s not too bulky (around 4 pounds.) Our AutoCAD work is almost always basic 2D design, and only about 10% of our time is actually spent in AutoCAD. Therefore, I don’t need the power (and high price) of cards and processors that are needed for 3D design and rendering. Just wanting something that won’t be frustrating while working during that 10%. Looking at 16GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB SSD with 15″ screen. No gaming planned.
I would suggest HP Pavilion Laptop 15t https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-pavilion-laptop-15t-7me17av-1. However, if you want something more powerful and with more features at almost the same price then i would highly suggest ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop TUF505DU-EB74. It comes with AMD Ryzen 7 3750H, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti 6GB, 15.6″ Full HD Display, Windows 10 and is priced at around $1100. It weighs at 4.9lbs which I think is pretty acceptable. It is a pretty powerful laptop and will not let you down in your work.
As an avid pc gamer and it can be said that GeForce GTX 945M is a beast when it comes to running hardware demanding games like Assasin’s Creed Odyssey and Metro Exodus in 50 fps.
Hi, I have AMD Radeon 520 on my Laptop. Compared to RAM and CPU, this graphics card is pretty bad. Can I replace that by other graphics card? If yes, what should I do?
I don’t think you can because it comes soldered on the motherboard.
I am trying to replace my burned graphic card in my old Alienware m15x.
I would like to find the best FANLESS card I could put in it.
What would be your advice?
You can try GeForce GTX 460M.
Necesito ayuda por favor!!1
Mi laptop es una i5 DELL Inspiron 15 3000 con gráficos integrados Intel HD 620. ¿Es posible agregar una tarjeta gráfica a ese modelo?
No you can’t add graphics card to this laptop.
Muchas gracias! Agradezco tu ayuda!
External graphics card with eGPU box requires a Thunderbolt port which your laptop does not have. The only thing you can do is to buy a new laptop with good graphics card, preferably GTX 1660 Ti.
I need to buy a new laptop for creation of home videos and also to conduct high quality webcam Telehealth sessions with clients. My 2010 Dell XPS 14 i5 has lasted 9 years and performed very well but it’s about DONE! Woefully outdated!
I want to prioritize a good Telehealth video coming and going both ways but am NOT computer savvy. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
– Does ANY laptop have a good web camera- better than 720? If so, I can’t find one.
– Do I need i7 power to handle an integrated GTX graphics card?
– Would it be a mistake NOT to buy an OLED- I might prefer FullHD 1920×1080 IPS LCD .
– I wonder if 16 GB RAM will suffice?
How much is your budget for the laptop?
Hi … what laptop you suggest it’s best for gaming ? Budget it’s about 1000-1300 maximum 1500euro if you think 200euro makes big difference as a performance.. tks!
I suggest Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop. It comes with Intel Core i7-9750H, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB Graphics Card, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, 15.6 inches Full HD 144Hz 3ms IPS Display, Backlit Keyboard. You can add a 2.5″ Hard Drive to expand the storage.
Would you also recommend this for online gaming?
Hello sir. I want to buy a laptop for student purpose. I can spend max 45000. I want good display with punchy colors and good viewing angles but I’m confused that TN displays available in my budget lacks my preferences. Do TN displays really have worst user experience ? Is there any laptop under 50k with good display and 15.6inch and i5 or Ryzen 5 processor ? I don’t play games frequently but I want a decent Nvidea Graphics card. Which one can I buy ? MX250 or MX150 or MX 110 ??? Please give me some suggestions sir
I suggest you to go for ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DD. It comes with Ryzen 5-3550H processor, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050 graphics card and 15.6 inch IPS panel. Right now it is available on amazon at around 47K INR.
Where do the N. Geforce Mx150 and its concurrent series lie? Are they Op? Should I consider them over the older generations?
Well GeForce MX150 is an entry level card that is not meant for gaming. For gaming go with at least GTX 1050.
Hello, I am looking for a gaming laptop or something close to it. My budget is around 2000-3000 riyals. For me, screen size does not matter for me because I’m planning to carry it around me every time for gaming and student purposes. Thank you 🙂
I would suggest ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT Laptop (Ryzen 5-3550H/8GB RAM/1TB HDD + 256GB PCIe SSD/GeForce GTX 1650 4GB Graphics Card/Windows 10).
Sounds like a lot of people know what they need or want in a laptop. I DO NOT!
Help me, please!
I need a 17″ laptop for: every day surfing the internet, lol’s.
collecting data and storing
watching movies online
oh yeah I have Magic Jack hooked up to my CPU right now
and I have MS 7 and a big desk top
Got to get up to speed here!!! THANK YOUUU!
How much is your budget for the laptop?
I didn’t even want to spend $1K, but it seems as though I may HAVE TO go over it a TAD?? Like $200, Mmmm!
Thank you so very much for getting back to me. I really was hoping you would!!! 😉
The best you can get in this price range is HP ENVY Laptop 17t https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-laptop-17t-best-value-8dv35av-1
OMG! You are way to kind to be helping me. I surely appreciate it. I was all twisted over this with all the NEWS hype about MS saying- we will no longer help you dinosaurs hanging onto your MS 7. lol’s
Is this the model I should look for? Are there variations of this model? Ex.: I have a Jetta, and there are variations of it.
You understand, I got to ask!
No variations as such but you can customize some of the things in this model that which include OS, display, office software etc.
Can I say her– Thank You so very much. You made this gal very happy! I will forever be in your debt. Seriously, this had me so bothered. I went on a hunt all by myself. And could not make heads from tails.
You got me on the right path.
You are most welcome!
What basic hardware requirements are needed in a laptop to run 3D moddeling softwares like free CAD smoothly..and could you suggest a budget laptop of the given requirements please?
It requires a good mid-range to high-end processor, 16GB RAM and a decent graphics card. How much is your budget for the laptop?
Under 1L INR
I would suggest Lenovo Legion Y540 (Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB Graphics Card, 15.6-inch FHD Display, Windows 10). Right now it is available on amazon at well under 1L INR.
I had the thought of buying a laptop for my own personal use but the thing is that I don’t know what quality laptop that has a very good graphic card. Now I can figure the right laptop to get for my own personal used all thanks to your post. I will love to come over to your site for more updates.
Thanks again, love your site, the way it loads and all.
Thanks for the appreciation and you are most welcome!
I don’t have much idea about the graphics card. I get some idea from this article. for me, Radeon RX 560 can be a good choice. as it is under my budget. I will try it.
I am currently using a desktop and would like to transition to a laptop for portablility. I am looking for something that will last several years as I usually keep my computers 5-6 years before upgrading or replacing. I am trying to get the most/best computer for the money I am willing to spend up $1800-$2000 (USD). Less is obviously better but that is my top end.
I would prefer something with at least a TB of storage, decent graphics card and at least 16GB memory.
My usage is normal office use with light graphics. I do trade stocks and the trading software is maxing out my current desktop so I need something capable of handling that.
I would recommend Lenovo Legion Y540 (15.6″ Screen, 9th Gen Intel Hexa-Core i7-9750H Up to 4.5GHz, 24GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD + 512GB PCIE SSD, GeForce GTX 1650 4GB, 802.11ac WiFi, Windows 10 Home)
My current use case is both as a video editing music composition, and numerical/stat/ML modeling box. What I want to purchase is a laptop that complements my tower (a behemoth dual boot Linux/Win combo that is able to handle this variety of tasks). I’m not expecting the same performanace as my tower, I simply need the laptop to allow me to go mobile as I (during times other than right now :)) am on-location, at a client’s office, in a coffee shop, university office, etc :). I don’t do gaming, I haven’t the time when I’m taking money from players in backgammon 🙂
I’m taking the leap to choose between 3 GPUS, the Quadro’s RTX 4k and 5k, and the 2080 (maybe super). The laptop base choices are between Xeon and 10th gen i9’s. What I need to optimize here are number of cores and clock speed, with a bit more weight on clock speed.
My first impression is that the RTX 5000 (or 4000, not terribly different and cheaper) is the way to go for the majority of the work I’m doing. However I notice that the RTX 2080 outperforms both of these guys in all many tests but Cinebench R15. I don’t see a gaming test necessarily the greatest benchmark for what I’m doing, but they may be at least weakly informative indicators.
For the laptop, I do need the laptop to have some expandability and true 4k. I’m fine with 17″ sized laptops. Whatever. I prefer the base have 3 nvme slots, But 2 nvme plus 1 or more SSD form factor slots are fine. I prefer to have a 10-key numpad (few 15″ have this, but some do – again, 17″ is fine w me)
What are your thoughts on GPU/CPU choice among these and any thoughts on best laptops that fit your recomendation given the above?
Somehow Sagers and Alienware are hitting the top of my list, but the ASUS Proart Studio X which is yet to ship seem like an interesting choice. Also the MSI Creator series is launching some higher powered versions which could prove interesting.
For processor, Intel Core i7-9750H should be enough and for graphics card, RTX 4000 or even RTX 2080 is sufficient. I would suggest going for a bigger screen i.e. 17″ for content creation work. ASUS Proart Studio X looks very promising.
I want to play BF3 on my laptop…
Do I have what I need? If not, can I get what I need? If so, what would be most…. bad ass?!
You need a decent graphics card, which is not possible in your case as you have integrated graphics.
Is asus strix g gtx1650 good for gaming ?
My budget is around 70 k
Main purpose is for gaming only😁.
70k for PC or graphics card?
I m gonna buy a laptop
Well, GTX 1650 is a decent enough card for gaming. You can play almost all modern games at high graphics settings at 1080p resolution.
Is asus strix g worth it or you have any more suggestions?
I think at 70K it is worth it. However, I do recommend upgrading the RAM to 16GB as 8GB is not going to cut it.
Thanks for quick replies
What Video Card do you suggest to upgrade to for my Asus Strix Gl703V. It currently has the Gtx1050
The card is soldered to the motherboard and can’t be upgraded.
I’m currently trying to choose between getting a laptop with the gtx 1060 6gb DDR5, 16gb ram
gtx 1650 4gb DDR5, 8gb ram.
Mainly looking to do intensive gaming with big modern game titles.
Go with the GTX 1060 and 16GB RAM.
GL531GU-WB53 vs FX505DV-EH54.
I have dwindled down to these 2 pcs.
I know with the Strix running the gtx1660ti I would have to do the ram upgrade but which one do you think has the upper hand for gaming?
I would say ASUS ROG Strix G Gaming Laptop (GL531GU-WB53).
I’m looking at a laptop as a desktop replacement
Here are specs;
widows 10 home
AMD Ryzen 7 3700U (2.3 GHz,up to 4 GHZ,6 MB cache,4 cores + Radeon Vega 10 Graphics
12 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM
15.6″ FHD IPS Display 91920×1080)
5.12 GB PCIE NVMe M.2 SSD
802.11ac/b/g/n (2×20 Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2 combo
I would like your input about this set up
I’m not a techi just don’t know enough
My current PC is 8 years old and I’m not a gamer
Thanks for your help
It is a pretty good setup.
Thanks for your help
I want a good laptop to play fornite no lag and games like that, budget 2k
Have a look at ASUS ROG Strix G G731GU.
Can I play the newest pc games on my MSI gaming laptop with a 980m graphics card or should I upgrade to a new laptop
Yes, you should be fine with most of the games.
I have a ACER Predator 17x with 64GB RAM and a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080 (I think) with 8GB memory
I would like to upgrade my video card – what will fit in the chassis. I have a thunderbolt connection but dont want to use and outside device unless absolutely nescessary
GTX 1080 is very powerful card, even by today’s standard. Why do you want to upgrade it?
I dont know really – just like going faster i think. Plus i like the concept of the new Invidia cards with lighting and shadowing performance – although i never play those types of games. Thank you for all the help you give to people!!!!
Hello, I have a Microsoft Surface laptop. I do a ton of design work. However, my DAZ Studio renders take 3-6 HOURS to render. Is it possible to even get a nvidia graphics card for my laptop?
No, you can’t have an external graphics card because it requires thunderbolt 3 port.
I have an HP TouchSmart All-In-One Desktop PC:
Model Number: IQ840
Serial Number: 3CR93108NK
Software Build: 93NAu6PrA2
which has an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS on the motherboard. However, the motherboard is equipped with a MXM II slot for an optional NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS Card. HP no longer supplies this graphics card. Yet I found an OEM version of this NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS card for laptops without the heatsink and fan on eBay for $24.00 + shipping and tax. I still need the Heatsink Fan for the MXM II NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS Card for the HP TouchSmart IQ840 Desktop PC. Do you have any idea where I can find this item? Also, do you know if the HP TouchSmart IQ840 Desktop PC is limited to the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS Card only?
You can find the heatsink/fan on aliexpress.com or ebay. Can’t say whether it is limited to GeForce 9600M GS only.
I was hoping your expertise would be able to help me choose my next laptop. I’m looking for something that’s going to last a long time. Mostly be used for web browsing, streaming movies and the odd few games.
My budget is £1200 (GBP), I was thinking something along the lines of an i7 processor, 16GB Ram and a decent graphics card. I’ve got a decent external SSD for storage so I’m sure a 500GB storage will be sufficient.
Can you recommend a few laptops that would be useful?
Thanks in advance
At this price, you can get a very good laptop with a Core i5-9300H and GTX 1660 Ti graphics card. The Legion Y540 series is very good. Have a look at https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-y-series/Lenovo-Legion-Y540-15/p/88GMY501214
I have a HP Pavillionx360 with an Intel Core i5 10th gen processor. Im looking mostly to play ps3 and ps2 games though
Is there any graphic card which can be installed internally on my Lenovo Thinkpad Laptop.
Lenovo Thinkpad E480
No, it can’t be done.
I’m wondering if it’s possible to install a graphic card to my Lenovo Yoga 920, if yes then what kind of graphic card should I get? Thanks in advance!
No, you can’t because it does not have a MXM slot.
Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it!
I don’t know much about graphics cards and I am looking to replace the GTX 1050 because it produces too much heat (the games I play are very taxing) the games run just fine but my laptop gets so hot that I burn my fingers when I touch certain keys. Do you have any suggestions?
P.S. would getting a graphics card from the 20 series reduce the heat? I know that the -Q graphics cards reduce it, but I kinda want to have same or better performance. (Also maybe raytracing, its so cool)
Use a good laptop cooling pad. It will certainly help to lower the heat.
I am looking for a new laptop. My budget is around 60k Indian rupees. I need it to last long, have decent specs. I play some games (FIFA, old COD games) casually. Some kind of video editing (1080p) will be also good. Maybe I can go with intel i5. Main goal would be to surf web, multimedia consumption and programming. I don’t care about look or weight. Please suggest any laptop with 8gb RAM and decent graphics. Are lenovo laptops are good? HP and DELL seem expensive with same specs/design.
Lenovo laptops are pretty good and I have one too. I suggest Lenovo Legion Y7000 (9th gen Intel Core i5 9300H, 15.6 inch FHD, 8GB/1TB HDD+256 GB SSD/Windows 10/NVIDIA GTX 1050 3GB Graphics). You can get it on amazon.
I wish to change the graphics card of my LAPTOP. Where can I buy one.
What laptop do you have? Laptops with MXM graphics cards can only be upgraded.
Samsung laptop with Nvidia 920 mx graphics card
I don’t think it can be upgraded.
What of the intel graphics 5000 in it?
What do you mean?
I have k55vm laptop from Asus. I have to change the graphic card in it. Previously, there was a graphic card NVIDIA GeForce gt 630m 2gb plz sir suggest best graphics card
I don’t think the graphics card can be upgraded in this laptop.
I have sketchup software we needed to install system ask me the graphic card not availble
What graphics card do you have?
the graphic is named (SNAPPY DRIVER)
i have the dell g7 with the gtx 1060 maxq. i have multiple games that stutter and saw that the gpu is maxing out. is there anything i should do settings wise or is there a better gpu that i can switch to?
GPU maxing out is a good thing. The maxing out of CPU causes stutter.
my laptop has intel r graphic 620…. can i change it?????
What laptop model?
My son has a lenovo laptop, he plays roblox, he would like a VR Headset but needs a graphics card, dont have a big budget, what would you suggest?
Well, in laptop you can’t upgrade the graphics card. I would recommend getting a PC.
HP OMEN 17 LAPTOP
I want to upgrade the graphics card from 6GB to 10GB. Is this possible?
No, you can’t.
Oh my. Thank you
I am looking for a laptop where I can run ML and DL workloads and understand their performance.
specifically I would need to run a :
Keras/ TensorFlow/ Pytorch/ Caffe/ Theano workflow and interpret system and application performance.
My requirement is also a system where performance parameters for ML/ DL workflow runs are available to the running Operating System so that they can be easily analyzed.
1. What is the minimum system configuration that I should go with? And what OS should be a good bet for detailed analysis? Does Windows 10 fit in this requirement?
2. Also, based on the above proposed configuration, please suggest a laptop which will reliably run over the next 5-6 years.
3. If I need a laptop satisfying the above, which is also available with a MXM slot, which one would you suggest?
4. Instead of a MXM slot, if I need one with a thunderbolt port, which one would you recommend?
Further, I do not intend to use it for gaming, hence, high-end graphics is not a requirement but the ability to run the ML/ DL workload in reasonable time is a requirement.
Thank you for your support.
What is your budget for the laptop?
My budget is Rs. 50K as of now, but unsure if that will suffice the above.
If you can tell me what is the minimum budget I should look at to fulfil the above requirements, that will be good. I can then work on reworking my budget.
And, how much of the above I can get with Rs. 50K, that will be useful information too.
For a good laptop meeting your requirements, you need 100K.
Thanks for your reply and suggestion.
What is the best laptop with a reasonably fast GPU card (not super fast since I won’t be using it for games) that I can get within Rs. 50K, which I can use for ML/ DL experiments?
In tight budget, the best I can suggest you is the Lenovo Legion Y540 (Intel Core i5 9300H, 15.6 inch FHD Display,8GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 256 GB SSD, 4GB GTX 1650 Graphics Card, Windows 10). It will cost you at around 66K and you can find it on amazon.
Is there an option within 50K? I understand that Legion Y540 is a very good option but I am willing to compromise on the performance/ speed with cost (limit 50K).
Well, it is hard to find a decent laptop under 50k. Here is a decent option Acer Aspire 3 A315-23 15.6-inch Laptop (AMD Ryzen 5-3500U/8GB RAM/512GB SSD/Window 10, Home, 64Bit/AMD Radeon Vega 8 Mobile Graphics)
What is your opinion about
a) Asus VivoBook Gaming Core i5 8th Gen – (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics/NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650) F571GT-BQ619T Gaming Laptop?
b) Lenovo L340/ gtx 1050 3gb/ i5 : https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/laptops/ideapad/l-series/IdeaPad-L340-15IRH-Gaming/p/88IPL301161
How would you rate these 3: The Acer Aspire 3 A315-23, and a) and b) above ?
Asus VivoBook F571GT-BQ619T would be the best option here. I woud not advise buying a laptop without an SSD.
Hello sir. I have a HP pavillion x360 i3 10th gen with 8 gm RAM and integrated intel UHD graphics. IT doesn’t have a thunderbolt port but a USB 3.1. Can i connect an external graphic card to it?
No, a thunderbolt compatible port is required for connecting an external graphics card dock.
Is their no way to connect a graphic card?
There is one way which is by using a mini PCI-E or M.2 NVMe to PCI-Express Adapter or Dock. Check this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM3D3cZmqn0
WHICH one IS ALL TIME GOOD GAMING GRAPHIC CARD WITH IN NORMAL PRICE RANG FOR LAPTOP
PLEASE INFORM ME EARLY
Go with a one with GeForce GTX 1650.
is it possible to update my graphic card on Nitro 5 acer? If so what would you recommend?
No, it is not possible.
can you suggest a laptop for basic cad, catia and other designing softwares? My budget is under 50k INR
At 50K INR, I think the best option is HP Laptop 14-ck2018TU. Check here for details and specs https://store.hp.com/in-en/default/hp-notebook-14-ck2018tu-172v2pa.html
P.S. – You can get it cheaper than 50K at amazon or maybe on some offline stores.
thank you.Is GTX or other graphics card necessary for performing these softwares?
It is not necessary for basic tasks/operations.
May i ask? Can you recommend me a budget friendly graphics card for my laptop that can run games like valorant smoothly on low to mid settings:
Device name LAPTOP-J77AEJII
Processor Intel(R) Celeron(R) N4100 CPU @ 1.10GHz 1.10 GHz
Installed RAM 4.00 GB (3.83 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
It also have 0.2/1.9 gb gpu memory . I also plan to upgrade my ram to 8gb
You cannot add a graphics card to a laptop unless it has a Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM) slot.
Which is better
GTX 1650 vs GTX 1650TI
GTX 1650 Ti is faster.
And between gtx 1650ti and rtx3050
RTX 3050 is faster.
I recently purchased a strix 15 which comes with a gtx 1050 ti. I do a little bit of gaming on it but not enough to warrant a super fast card. However, I do use it for streaming movies and such and have it connected to a ultragear 1440p 165hz monitor. So my problem is I’ve realized, to late, that the 1050 ti only has an internal pci bus port for the onboard screen. All of the external outputs are connected to the secondary video card which is a intel uhd 630 that is only capable of outputing video at 60hz. So it doesn’t utilize the full capabilities of my secondary monitor.
So my question is, do you know if it is possible to either bridge the nvidia card so it will connect to the hdmi/displayport. Or replace the card with a different one that has the outputs i need?
Well, the laptop will automatically switch to the GTX 1050 Ti during gaming or when high GPU processing is required.
