Best Small Form Factor (SFF) Graphics Card for Mini ITX Cases in 2024

If you are building a mini-ITX gaming PC or a powerful HTPC then you will need a good small form factor graphics card for it. Almost all Regular sized graphics cards are too long and they cannot be made fit into most of the mini-ITX cases. For this, you need a compact graphics card that has a shorter length PCB and can easily fit into a mini-ITX or small form factor PC case. These compact graphics cards with shorter-sized PCBs are also known as small form factor graphics cards or mini graphics cards. The width of the SFF graphics card may or may not change but their length is always on the shorter side. An SFF graphics card should not have a length longer than 211mm and most shorter SFF graphics cards have a length shorter than 175mm.

There is a major difference between low profile graphics cards and these compact or small form factor graphics cards. Low profile graphics cards are sleek i.e. they are not wide. They may be longer in length, especially in the case of powerful low profile graphics cards, and may or may not fit in the mini-ITX cases, whereas compact or mini graphics cards are shorter in length but are as wide as the regular-sized graphics cards. They can fit in the mini-ITX cases but not in the slim or low-profile cases. You should also know that these compact or mini graphics cards can also fit in the mini-ATX and regular ATX cases perfectly.

Here in this post, I am going to list down the best SFF graphics cards for small form factor PC. These SFF GPUs are very powerful and most of them can run the latest games at medium-high or Ultra graphics settings at 1080p.

Must Read:

Important Note: All the below-mentioned SFF graphics cards are of standard height or width and will not fit in slim or low profile computer cases. For slim SFF cases, you need a low profile graphics card.

GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER costs only a little more than GTX 1650 but is about 40% to 50% faster than it. It offers the Radeon RX 580 level of performance and that too with consuming about half of its power. The card is great for 1080p and eSports gaming and can run all the latest AAA games on ultra to high settings with 50 to 60 FPS on average. For power, it needs one 6-pin PCI-E connector and a decent 350 Watt power supply. Connectivity options include a DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI port.

On this card, you can play all your modern-day AAA titles on ultra settings at 1080p / 1440p with comfortable frame rates (60+ FPS on average).

ZOTAC-GAMING-GeForce-GTX-1660-Ti-6GB-GDDR6

This card runs on stock frequencies, but you can easily overclock it to get the most performance out of it. For cooling, the card comes with dual offset fans with a heatsink with copper heatpipes. Here one fan is smaller than the other, and this setup is used for providing more optimized Static Pressure and Airflow. The card does require one 8-pin PCIe and needs a good 450W PSU for its proper working. For display, connectivity options at the rear include three DisplayPort and one HDMI port. Highly Recommended by me.

EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING

[Dual Slot, High Factory Overclocking, Semi-passive cooling]

The best compact RTX 3060 you can get for an SFF case is the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING. The card is 202mm in length and has a strict dual-slot design that makes it fit in the majority of smaller and mini-ITX cases. RTX 3060 is a mainstream RTX 30 series card that comes with 3584 CUDA Cores, 28 RT Cores (2nd generation), and 112 Tensor Cores (3rd generation). The card comes with 12GB GDDR6 memory running at 15 Gbps and has a 192-bit interface. It is a great card for 1080p and 1440p gaming and is up to 20% faster than the RTX 2060, which it officially replaces. RTX 3060 also beats RTX 2060 SUPER and RTX 2070 in almost all gaming benchmarks.

EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3060-XC-GAMING

EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING is an overclocked RTX 3060 card having a GPU Boost Clock speed of 1882 MHz which is 102 MHz more than the reference specs. For cooling, it uses an aluminum heatsink with two long copper heatpipes and a large copper plate that makes contact with the GPU and the GDDR6 memory chips. The heatsink is cooled by two decently quiet fans and the card does come with fan start-stop semi-passive cooling tech that turns the fans off during low GPU load and starts them when the GPU load and temperature increase. The card has a vented metal backplate that gives it rigidity and also helps in improving the airflow. For power, the card requires only a single 8-pin PCIe power connector and a 550W PSU is recommended for it. Display connectivity options include three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and one HDMI 2.1 port. You can use the EVGA Precision X1 software to adjust and control various important parameters (fan speed, clock speed, etc.) and can monitor them in real-time.

Note: A lower variant of this card is also available as EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC Black Gaming that does not come with a backplate and has got reference GPU clock speed while other specifications and design of the card remain the same. It is also quite cheaper and is priced at the base MSRP.

Final Words

In the end, I would like to say that if you are looking for powerful compact, and small form factor (SFF) graphics cards for mini-ITX cases then these are the best you can find. Nvidia certainly has an edge over here because it has a wider range of mini graphics cards as compared to AMD. If you are still unsure about which mini-sized graphics card to get then you can ask me by leaving a comment below.
