love your blog and the simple way you are writing. Based on your recommendations, I converted my older mini-ITX HTPC to a Gaming PC (dedicated to playing “Call of Duty”) by getting a new GPU, a ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1660 Ti , and putting all together in a “Cooler Master Elite 110 Limited Edition” case.
But the fun didn’t last long… A few weeks ago, after a short break from playing, the PC wouldn’t boot or eventually it would boot, everything would run fine but after I would shut it down it wouldn’t boot again. I reset the BIOS (from the backup), even shorted the CMOS, and then it would boot, run fine until I would shut it down and then it wouldn’t boot again. This is more or less the pattern…

My question is, if I have to replace my old motherboard (GIGABYTE-Z77N-WIFI) and buy a new one, I would have to buy also a new CPU and replace my old one (Intel Core i7-3770T), correct?
The same applies also for the current memory (G.Skill 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600) ? Would I have to buy new RAM as well?
Is there any way I can save my Gaming PC by just replacing the motherboard without any of the other components?

Yes you to buy a new CPU and RAM along with the new Motherboard. The first thing to do is to identify the faulty component. Looking at your problem, I think the culprit is RAM rather than the motherboard. Also, replace the CMOS battery on your motherboard with a new one. What PSU are you using?

I just ordered a multimeter and a new CR 2032 battery. I’ve already replaced the battery with another one, sealed and originally packed but purchased a couple of years ago (that’s why I got myself a multimeter to be able to check also battery voltage in general).
Once I put the new CMOS battery, I will also try the memory modules one by one and take it from there.
The PSU I’m using is a brand new Cooler Master MWE Reactor 750 (750W).
Your PSU is enough and is pretty good.
