Best RX 5700 XT Cards for 1440p Gaming [AIB Custom Cards]

Radeon RX 5700 XT is a powerful graphics card in AMD’s new Radeon RX 5700 series that is based on the Navi GPU architecture. The card is built on the 7nm manufacturing process and is powered by new RDNA architecture, which replaces the older GCN architecture. The card comes with 2560 Stream Processors and 8GB GDDR6 memory having a 256-bit interface. This is a VR Ready card and supports DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6, and Vulkan API. The power consumption of this card is rated at 225W and it requires a 600W to 650W PSU for its working.

The card is faster than the GeForce RTX 2070, which is its main competitor. Moreover, it is as fast as the GeForce RTX 2070 Super but lacks behind in some games. This is a great gaming card and you can play all the latest games on ultra / very high graphics settings at 1440p resolution with 60+ FPS. It is also a wonderful card for content creation and video editing as it supports H265/HEVC and 4K H264 Encoding & Decoding. Some of the other prominent features of this card include FreeSync 2, FidelityFX, Radeon Image Sharpening, and Radeon Anti-Lag which helps to provide a smooth, stutter-free, and immersive gaming experience.

At the time of launch, only a blower fan style variant of this card was available, based on the original OEM design, but now AIB partners or other graphics card manufacturers have released custom Radeon RX 5700 XT cards with custom PCB and custom coolers, and most of them come overclocked with higher clock frequencies. Moreover, these custom RX 5700 XT cards run cooler than the reference design (with a blower fan), which means you can overclock them higher to get more performance out of them. So, if you are searching for a good custom RX 5700 XT card, then here I am going to list some of the best RX 5700 XT cards with different coolers, designs, and styles for your gaming and work needs.

Best RX 5700 XT [Overall]

PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT

[Triple Fan, Silent, Fast, Dual BIOS, 10 Phases VRM, RGB]

If you are looking for a custom RX 5700 XT that has got it all then it is PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT. This card excels in almost every major department that includes performance, quietness, looks, build quality, and performance. However, it falls short in compactness because it is a massive card with 2.5 slot design, which means you need a decent mid-tower or a bigger cabinet to fit this beast in. This is an OC edition card with 1770 MHz Base Clock, up to 1905 MHz Game Clock and can reach up to 2010 MHz Boost frequency in performance mode. For cooling, the card comes with triple 90mm fans with ball bearings, a large heatsink with 5 Copper heatpipes, and has a greater number of aluminum fins. It has dual BIOS having Silent and OC modes, where the silent one gives a quieter gaming performance and the OC one ensures that you get the best frame rates in games. However, even in performance mode, the card remains very quiet and is not at all noisy. Also, the Mute Fan Technology (0dB) on this card provides semi-passive cooling, which means the fans remain off when the temperature is below 60 °C and they turn back into action when the temperature crosses this threshold value during gaming or during high GPU load. Also, the card runs significantly cooler than the reference RX 5700 XT card that employs a blower fan style cooler.

PowerColor-Red-Devil-Radeon-RX-5700-XT

The build quality of the card is great and it has got a 1.5mm metal backplate that supports the card and prevents it from bending. Unlike other Red Devil cards, this card does not come in a Red color scheme, which can be a good thing for some users as some of them may find the red color too flashy or it may look odd for their build. The card also has an RGB LED-lit logo and border on the side, and their colors can be customized by the user. The power consumption of the card is on the higher side compared to the reference model and it requires two 8-pin PCIe connectors from the PSU. Video output ports on this card are illuminated by LED for easy access in dark, and they include three DisplayPort and one HDMI port. The card is also very competitively priced and is a great buy for anyone looking for a fast and high-performance 1440p gaming card for their gaming rig.

SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6

[Best RX 5700 XT Card along with PowerColor Red Devil RX 5700 XT]

If there is any other triple fan Radeon RX 5700 XT card that comes close to PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT, both in terms of performance and quality then it is SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6. It is definitely one of the best Radeon RX 5700 XT cards that you can buy and has received praise from highly reputed hardware tech websites and reviewers. The card looks great and even better than the above-mentioned PowerColor Red Devil one. However, it is a massive card with a 2.5 slot design and is even longer and bigger than the PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT. The card comes with the same clock speeds as of the PowerColor Red Devil, which is 1770 MHz for Base, up to 1905 MHz for Game, and up to 2010 MHz for Boost. The Tri-X Cooling Technology on this card comes with a massive aluminum heatsink with heatpipes to cool down the GPU and VRMs, while the VRAM modules use a separate heatsink for cooling. The heatsink on this card is cooled down by three fans (with ball bearings) in which the middle fan is smaller than the two and spins in opposite directions for ensuring better airflow by reducing turbulence. Also, these are quick connect fans that do not come with the cable but a proprietary connector, which makes them easy to remove for cleaning purposes or to replace them in case of any fault. This is a very silent card and you can’t even hear the fans spinning at low loads and can barely hear them at full load.

SAPPHIRE-NITRO-RX-5700-XT-8G-GDDR6

The card has got a fancy metal backplate that looks nice, provides rigidity to the card, helps a bit in cooling too, and sports an RGB LED logo on it. An ARGB header is also provided on the card itself that can be used to plug in your ARGB-supported device for syncing RGB lighting with the card. The Dual BIOS switch on this card lets you switch between performance and silent modes. Moreover, you can also switch between these modes from SAPPHIRE’s TriXX software. The card and the software also support TriXX Boost feature that allows you to gain more FPS in games by slightly decreasing resolution that is then adjusted through Radeon Image Sharpening to give you the best of both worlds. You can also customize ARGB lighting and various other settings using the TriXX software. The card remains rock stable during overclocking or performance mode and comes with 8+1+2 Phase Digital Power design. When it comes to power consumption, then this card does consume a little more power than other aftermarket RX 5700 XT cards and requires two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors from the PSU. The card has got fuse protection as safety feature, which protects it in case of any power surge or abnormal power delivery from the PSU. The display connectivity options on this card stand out from the crowd because it comes with two HDMI ports (other RX 5700 cards have only one) and two DisplayPort (others have three). Overall, a solidly built, great-looking, feature-rich, and high-performance RX 5700 XT card that you certainly cannot ignore.

Best Dual Fan RX 5700 XT

SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 5700XT 8G GDDR6

[TriXX Boost, Dual BIOS, Quick Connect Fans]

According to me, the best dual fan Radeon RX 5700 XT in the market is the SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 5700XT 8G GDDR6. This is a great aftermarket RX 5700 XT card from Sapphire that comes with a ton of features and performs similar to the beefy triple fan RX 5700 XT cards, both in terms of gaming and cooling performance. Also, the card has great build quality and comes with an aluminum backplate for rigidity. This is an OC edition card that can reach boost speed to up to 1925 MHz and has got 7+1+2 Phase Digital Power Phases or VRMs for rock-solid stability under overclocking and high loads. The Dual-X Cooling Technology of this card employs a heatsink with Copper heatpipes that cools down the GPU, VRAM, and the VRMs. On top of it, there are dual 95mm fans with ball bearings for a longer lifespan. These are quick connect fans which means they can be removed and installed easily for cleaning or for replacement purposes, as they do not have any cable attached to them and comes with a proprietary connector. The card is relatively compact compared to triple fan versions or even reference cards, but it will consume three slots on the motherboard & case because of its 2.3 slot design.

SAPPHIRE-PULSE-RX-5700XT-8G-GDDR6

The card also features semi-passive cooling, which means the fans stop spinning during low GPU loads and temperatures, and they kick back in action when the temperature crosses a certain threshold value during gaming or running intensive programs that use GPU a lot. Just like the above mentioned PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT, it also comes with Dual BIOS that has an option for both performance and silent mode. The card supports SAPPHIRE TriXX Software that can be used for monitoring and fine tune your card’s performance, profiles, overclocking, color settings and more. One extra edition to this software is the TriXX Boost feature that allows you to decrease the resolution in any game, which is then upscaled and adjusted using Radeon Image Sharpening to get higher FPS in games without compromising much on the quality. The performance of the card is similar to the reference RX 5700 XT, but it runs a lot cooler than it. In fact, the card runs as cool as the PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT, which uses triple fans.

The power consumption of the card is rated at 241W and it requires one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCIe connectors from the PSU. The power supply recommendation for this card is 650W. It also has got Fuse Protection for safety purposes to prevent the components of the card resulting from a power surge. Display connectivity options at the rear include three DisplayPort and HDMI ports. So, if you are looking for a relatively compact RX 5700 XT card that is big on performance and features then you should definitely go for it without any hesitation.

Best Dual Slot 5700 XT

ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger D 8G OC

[10+1 Phase Power VRM, Simple Design]

Besides the reference RX 5700 XT card, there are virtually no AIB RX 5700 XT cards that come with a strict dual-slot design. The only custom RX 5700 XT card that has got close to a strict dual-slot design is the ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger D 8G OC. This is a slightly overclocked card with Base clock of 1650 MHz, Game clock of up to 1795 MHz, and can reach up to 1905 MHz Boost Clock. For cooling, it comes with a triple channel heatsink with four 8mm copper heatpipes and dual fans for efficient and better heat dissipation. The card is strengthened by a metal backplate that looks nice too. The card has got 10+1 Phase Power design for super smooth and stable power delivery, and you can overclock it further to higher frequencies using a good overclocking software such as MSI Afterburner.

ASRock-Radeon-RX-5700-XT-Challenger-D-8G-OC

The design of the card is kept simple which is a good thing and some users do prefer a basic design. It requires two 8-pin PCIe power connectors from the PSU and a 650W power supply is recommended for it. Display connectivity options include three DisplayPort and one HDMI port, which is pretty standard across all Radeon RX 5700 XT cards. Budget & Compact RX 5700 XT

MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT MECH

[Compact, Value for Money]

If you are looking for a budget RX 5700 XT card that comes with a custom cooler then MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT MECH is a great choice. The card is also relatively compact than other RX 5700 XT cards and has a length of only 237mm. However, it is not a true dual-slot card as the shroud extends a little beyond the second slot. This is a non-overclocked card and runs on stock frequencies by default. However, you can overclock this card because of its better cooler that comes with a heatsink with 6mm copper heatpipes with a direct contact design. The heatsink also cools down the memory and the VRMs that are in contact with it using the thermal pads. On the top of the heatsink, there are dual TORX Fans with Dispersion and a Traditional Fan Blade design for delivering both high airflow and static pressure. The card also has a backplate that strengthens its design.

MSI-Radeon-RX-5700-XT-MECH

The card performs similar to the reference card with a blower fan but it runs 11% cooler than it in games. The power consumption of the card is rated at 225W and it needs one 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe connector from the PSU. Best Looking RX 5700 XT

XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II

[Stylish & Classy Design, Semi-passive Cooling]

Well, looks can be subjective, but I think most of you will agree with me that the XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II is certainly the most attractive looking Radeon RX 5700 XT card. The entire card is encapsulated by two pieces of black symmetrical shrouds with a chrome border that covers the backplate at one end and fans at the other. The heatsink is enclosed between the two shroud pieces and at the tail end of the card, a chrome grill is present that resembles the grill of a car. As the name indicates, the card is thick or you can say fat because it has got a larger and thicker heatsink with four 6mm copper heatpipes and two 100mm fans for delivering exceptional cooling performance. The card is silent in operation and is said to be 35% quieter compared to the reference card. The card also features Zero DB Fan System technology for semi-passive cooling, which turns off the fans during light GPU load, and when the load increases during intensive gaming or during high GPU operations, the fans start automatically to keep the card cool.

XFX-Radeon-RX-5700-XT-THICC-II

Strangely, the card runs on stock speed only out of the box but because of a hefty cooler, you can safely overclock it to higher speeds easily to get better performance. This is a 2.7 slot design card, which means you have to sacrifice three slots on your motherboard and PC case to fit this beauty. On the power consumption front, a minimum 600W PSU is recommended for it, and it requires one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCIe connector. As standard, display connectivity options include three DisplayPort and one HDMI port. So, if you want a super stylish RX 5700 XT card that stands out from the crowd and also delivers great performance then it is the one.

MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT EVOKE OC

[Minimalist Design, Stylish & Great Color Scheme, Semi-passive Cooling]

If aesthetics is one of your major buying factors then you will definitely love the MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT EVOKE OC. Just like the above-mentioned XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II, this is another great-looking card but is a bit on the flashy side. The card comes with a gold or champagne color shroud and backplate that looks striking. The card oozes out the oomph factor and can really turn heads. Besides looks, it is great on performance too and is also on the compact side, especially when we compare it with other RX 5700 XT cards. The card is overclocked to a decent level and has got a Game clock of up to 1835 MHz and a Boost clock of up to 1945 MHz. It is also one of the coolest running Radeon RX 5700 XT cards when it comes to GPU temperature but has got higher Memory and VRM temperatures compared to the competition that also includes the reference model too. The cooler on this card consists of a heatsink with heatpipes & copper baseplate, and dual TORX 3.0 Fans having dispersion and a traditional blade design for better airflow and pressure.

MSI-Radeon-RX-5700-XT-EVOKE-OC

The card also employs semi-passive cooling functionality for completely silent operation, where under low GPU load or idle (<60°C), the fans stop spinning and when the temperature goes above the 60°C mark, they start spinning to keep the temperature in check. The card performs marginally better than the reference RX 5700 XT but runs a lot cooler. However, the power consumption of the card is a little on the higher side than the reference model in gaming. The card requires one 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe connector for power and MSI recommends a 750W PSU for the card, which I think is overkill. The video output ports at the rear include three DisplayPort and HDMI ports.
