Power Supply Unit or PSU is one of the most important components of a PC. PSU or SMPS supplies power to almost all the important components of your PC including a processor, motherboard, memory, hard disk, fans, graphics card, and other peripheral devices & components. Without a PSU you won’t be able to start your computer. There are various power supplies available in the market from different brands but you should be very careful in choosing a PSU because a cheap and non-branded power supply can affect the performance of your PC and may also cause damage to your expensive components like a graphics card.
The most important thing to look for in a power supply is the amount of current present on the 12V rail. This is because most of the major components of a PC including the Processor, Motherboard, Hard disk, Fans, and Graphics Card draw power or current from the 12V rail. A modern-day computer having a budget graphics card should have at least 30A current on 12V Rail. A PC with a PSU not having a sufficient amount of current on 12V rail will encounter performance loss, frequent restarts, and instability and may also cause damage to components including the PSU itself.
If you have a PC with a dedicated graphics card then your power requirements will be greater because the graphics card alone consumes a decent amount of power. High-end graphics cards can consume up to 250 Watts of power and they need around 750 Watt or higher PSU for their proper working. Power Supplies can be very expensive and they can go as high as 200 dollars or more. But Not everybody can afford an expensive PSU and there are some good budget power supplies available that you can use with your budget gaming PC. So here in this post, I am listing down the best budget power supplies that you can get under or at around 50 – 60 dollars. These power supplies are from good brands and offer the best value for the money.

Antec EarthWatts 380W Power Supply (EA-380D Green)

Corsair CX750 Power Supply
Here we have Corsair CX750 which is a very good budget 750 Watt power supply for high-end graphics cards. It is an 80 Plus Bronze certified power supply and has got 62A on its single 12V Rail which is huge. It is a non-modular power supply and for GPU it comes with four (6+2) pin PCI-E connectors. This power supply can be used with high-end graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD but I would still advise not you not to run SLI or Crossfire multi-GPU setup with this PSU because for that you have to go for more heavy-duty power supplies at around 800W – 1000W which are very expensive.
Corsair CX750 comes with 0.99 Active Power Factor Correction and all safety features including OVP, UVP, SCP, OTP, and OPP. The 120mm fan is super quiet and effective in operation. You can get this power supply for under 100 dollars.

At 16 Amps x 4 =64 Amps Total of 387.2 w. for the 1st, and 320.0 w. for the 2nd- The Max power is 500 w… I am wanting to Upgrade the Graphic Card to, The ASUS Dual GeForce® GTX 1660 SUPER™ MINI OC edition 6GB GDDR6. Witch has a Recomended PSU of 450 w… Would this Graphic card be ok to use ??? Since it has 2 Rails, and not 1 Rail ??? Thank You,
I think it can power the GTX 1660 SUPER. Does this PSU has an 8-pin PCIe power connector because you will need it for the GTX 1660 SUPER.
Yes it does, it has 2-4 pin for the MB. plus 1-6 small pin, A ( 6 pin plus a 2 pin, wire tied together ), plus another 6 pin connector…
I appreciate, very much the information. Thank You,
Hello Mr. Verma, which do you recommend between EVGA 600W Power Supply (80+ White) and Thermaltake Smart 600W Power Supply (80+ White)?
Both are very good but I would prefer EVGA 600W 80+ White because it has more current on its 12V Rail (49A) compared to Thermaltake Smart 600W (42A).
