If you are looking to buy a good 1440p gaming graphics card in the affordable segment then some of the best options out there in the market are RTX 2060, RX 5700, RX 5700 XT, RTX 2070, and the latest RTX 2060 SUPER. GeForce RX 2060, RX 2070 and RX 2060 Super are graphics cards from Nvidia that belongs to the RTX 20 series family, while Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT are the new Navi based graphics cards from AMD and are the main competitors of the RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2070 and RTX 2060.
Some of these graphics cards offer performance very close to each other, while some of them are relatively cheaper and offer a great price-to-performance ratio. Choosing the right graphics card between them can be a very confusing task when you have that many options, and they all offer pretty good performance. So, here I am going to compare these graphics cards based on different factors to let you choose the best graphics card among them based on your specific requirements or needs.
RTX 2060 SUPER vs RX 5700 vs RX 5700XT vs RTX 2070 vs RTX 2060
Here is the comparison between RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2060, RTX 2070, RX 5700, and RX 5700 XT graphics cards based on their specifications, performance, pricing, power consumption, and features.
GPU Architecture
Here the RTX 2060, RTX 2060 SUPER and RTX 2070 are RTX 20 series graphics cards based on the Turing GPU architecture that is built on the 12nm manufacturing process. Also, all these Nvidia GPUs here use the same TU106 GPU Chip or core. The card with the highest number of CUDA Cores is RTX 2070 with 2304 CUDA Cores, while the RTX 2060 SUPER is not far behind and comes with 2176 CUDA Cores. On the other hand, Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT are AMD cards based on the Navi GPU architecture which replaces the older GCN instruction set architecture (ISA) with the RDNA. Here RX 5700 XT comes with 2560 Stream Processors and the RX 5700 has got 256 fewer Stream Processors at 2304. It must be noted that you cannot compare CUDA Cores with Stream Processors because both works in a different manner and have different GPU architectures.

Memory [VRAM]
All these graphics cards except RTX 2060 come with 8GB GDDR6 memory having a 256-bit interface, running at 14 Gbps and providing a bandwidth of 448 GB/s. The RTX 2060 comes with 6GB GDDR6 memory having 192-bit interface with bandwidth of 336 GB/s. So, in terms of video memory department RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070, RX 5700, and RX 5700 XT are at the same position, while RTX 2060 is at the bottom.

Features
All of these graphics cards support DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6, Vulkan, OpenCL and FreeSycn, which is a variable refresh rate technology to prevent screen tearing for smooth gameplay without any stutter. The features that are exclusive to these RTX 20 series cards are Real Time Ray Tracing and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) due to the dedicated RT Cores and Tensor Cores, and the ones that are present in only RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT is the new PCIe 4.0 interface.
None of these cards support multi-GPU configuration (SLI/CrossFire) that allows similar GPUs to be paired together for increased performance, especially in productivity tasks. Here only the RTX 2070 comes with USB Type-C connector that supports VirtualLink for hooking up next-generation VR headsets. All these graphics cards are VR-ready and support hardware-based encoding and decoding. So, in terms of features, these cards are very well equipped and will not let you down whether in gaming, video editing, or workstation tasks.
Gaming Performance
Here are the benchmarks for these graphics cards in popular games at 1440p resolution.
Here you can clearly see that RX 5700 XT is the fastest card here and the second position goes to the RTX 2070. The RTX 2060 Super performs similar to the RTX 2070 and there is not a great difference between them. Also, the RX 5700 beats the RTX 2060 in almost every benchmark, but not by a huge margin.
Power Consumption
The Nvidia cards here have lower power consumption compared to their AMD counterparts. The card with the higher power consumption figure is RX 5700 XT, while the one with the lowest is RTX 2060. The power consumption of RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070, and RX 5700 is kind of similar at 175W to 180W. For running these cards in your system, you do require a branded 550W to 600W PSU.

Recommended PSU | 500W | 550W | 550W | 600W | 600W |
Pricing
Here, the cards that are lowest in value are RTX 2060 and RX 5700, while the most expensive is the RTX 2070. RTX 2060 SUPER and RX 5700 XT are priced the same and provide great bang for your bucks. Here the prices mentioned are for Founders edition or OEM cards only, as the aftermarket or cards from other graphics card manufacturers (AIB partners) may cost more, depending upon the overclocking, features, and the cooler design. Final Verdict
Well, if I have to pick a card here then I would certainly go with the Radeon RX 5700 XT. It is not only faster than the similar price RTX 2060 Super but is also faster than the RTX 2070, which is a significantly higher-priced card and one segment above the RTX 2060 Super. Also, RX 5700 is faster than the similarly priced RTX 2060. Moreover, you will extra 2GB RAM with RX 5700 that can prove very handy in the latest AAA games and for 4K video editing. So, here AMD cards are clearly the winner and they beat RTX cards hands down. If you have any queries regarding them, then you can ask me in the comment section below.

Thank you for taking the time to not only test these cards and compile the data on them, but also write such a nicely laid out review. I haven’t been in a finical situation that allowed much in the way of DIY PC builds in many years. Now that I am fortunate enough to give it a try, these are the exact cards I have been looking at. This article is pure gold.
Thanks for the appreciation and you are most welcome.
Hello
do you mean that RX 5700XT is better choice than RTX 2060Super for Video Editing?
If that is correct
is saphire pulse Rx 5700XT good enough with Ryzen 7 3700X for 4K editing?
For video editing better go with the RTX 2060 SUPER because of better drivers and CUDA acceleration by many video editing applications.
Thanks for your respond
is
MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus good
in Germany now costs 385 euros
It is decent but better options are available https://graphicscardhub.com/best-rtx-2060-super/
Hellow again
for 4K editing do I need 4k Monitor ? or 144HZ with IPS is good enough?
You don’t need a 4K monitor for 4K editing.
Thanks Akshat it is good advice.
