Nvidia has spiced up its budget graphics card GeForce GTX 1650 by with faster GDDR6 memory. GeForce GTX 1650 is a pretty good card for eSports and 1080p gaming and can run almost all the latest AAA games on mid-high graphics settings with 50 to 60 FPS on average, depending upon the game. It is around 60% faster than the GTX 1050 and about 35% faster than the GTX 1050 Ti. GeForce GTX 1650 is a great card for older systems because of its lower power consumption. The card supports DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6, Vulkan API, G-Sync, and uses Volta NVIDIA Encoder (NVENC).
GeForce GTX 1650 comes with 896 CUDA Cores and uses Turing GPU architecture, built on the 12nm manufacturing process. The card comes with 4GB GDDR5 or GDDR6 memory, both having a 128-bit interface. The standard or the original GTX 1650 uses GDDR5 memory that is clocked at 12Gbps and offers a bandwidth of 128 GB/s. On the other hand, the newer variant has GDDR6 memory that runs at 12Gbps and offers memory bandwidth of 192 GB/s. The GDDR6 version of GTX 1650 is around 10% faster on average compared to its GDDR5 version.
The card has a lower power consumption of 75W only and requires a 300W PSU for its working. The basic models of GTX 1650 card do not require a 6-pin PCIe connector, but some of the higher overclocked models do need it for stability purposes. There are many GTX 1650 GDDR6 models available, and here I am listing the best GTX 1650 GDDR6 models based on various parameters that include form factor, power consumption, budget, and overclocking.

Best (Overall) & Silent GTX 1650 GDDR6
MSI GeForce GTX 1650 D6 GAMING X
[Great Looks & Build Quality, Semi-Passive Cooling]
The best and the most silent GTX 1650 GDDR6 card you can get is the MSI GeForce GTX 1650 D6 GAMING X. It is an overclocked card with a GPU Boost Clock Speed of 1710 MHz, which is 120 MHz more than the reference. The card uses MSI TWIN FROZR Thermal Design cooler that consists of an aluminum heatsink with a higher fins count (vertically stacked) and a single copper heatpipe for better heat transfer from the GPU to the heatsink. The heatsink is cooled down by two TORX 3.0 fans having dispersion and a traditional blade design for delivering both high airflow and static pressure.
The Zero Frozr technology on this card provides semi-passive cooling, where the fans do not spin when the temperature of the GPU is under 60°C during low load, delivering noiseless operation. When the temperature crosses this threshold value during gaming or GPU-intensive operations, then fans start automatically to keep the card components cool. Even during full GPU load, the fans are very silent and almost non-audible.
The card looks great and has great build quality too. The power consumption of this card is rated at 85W, which is 10W more than the other GTX 1650 GDDR6 cards. It requires one 6-pin PCIe power connector, and a 300W PSU is recommended for its working. On the connectivity front, it has got two DisplayPort and one HDMI port. You may overclock the card a little more using the MSI Afterburner overclocking software, which can be downloaded for free from MSI’s official website.

Best Value GTX 1650 GDDR6
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 D6 WINDFORCE OC 4G
[Semi-passive Cooling, Wider Availability]
Another great all-rounder and one of the best value GTX 1650 GDDR6 cards is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 D6 WINDFORCE OC 4G. It is an OC edition card and comes with a 1710 MHz GPU Boost clock, which is a healthy 120 MHz higher than the reference, which is 1590 MHz. The WINDFORCE 2X Cooling System on this card uses an all-aluminum heatsink and dual 80mm alternative spinning fans (with unique blade design). The fans spin in the opposite direction to each other, which helps in reducing the turbulence and allows smoother airflow for enhanced cooling performance. The 3D Active Fan feature provides semi-passive cooling, where the fans remain off when the load on the GPU is low or idle for completely silent operation. The fans kick start immediately when the GPU temperature crosses a specific threshold value to keep the card cool.
The build quality of the card is pretty good and is also pretty good-looking. The card does require one 6-pin PCIe power connector, and a 300W PSU is recommended for it. The display connectivity options at the rear include DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI ports. The Gigabyte AORUS Engine software allows you to adjust the clock speed, voltage, fan performance, and power target in real-time according to your game’s requirements.

Final Words
GTX 1650 GDDR6 is undoubtedly a better buy over the GDDR5 variant because of its improved performance, and that too without any increase in the price. It still is a low-power card, and some of the models don’t even require a PCI-E power connector, which makes it an ideal card for older systems with weaker PSUs. It is also a great budget card for eSports gaming and 1080p gaming. If you have any doubts regarding which GTX 1650 GDDR6 to choose from then you can ask me your queries in the comment section below.

Is there a GPU that works with a 240W PSU? I know I should upgrade my PSU in the first place, but I want to keep the price as low as possible. I only found the RX550 in an other article. If there is no alternative, I could use the SATA power cable of the optical drive (who needs this lol) as an 6-pin PCIE power cable. But does it prefer to pull power of 6-pin or PCIE? If not, the 240W PSU is still the problem. The PSU has to be able to handle the GPU. I am thankful for every help 😀
GeForce GT 1030 can work fine on a 240W power supply. Also, I won’t recommend using SATA cable for 6-pin PCIe power, especially in a 240W PSU.
Thank you for replying so fast! So there is not a more powerful GPU I could use for my PC? Then I think I will go with the RX550 LP OC, which is also low profile and can easily fit in my SFF PC. Thanks a lot! Love your articles, keep up this amazing work 😀
Not with 240W PSU because of risks involved. Almost all GT 1030 cards are low profile only. You can check them at https://graphicscardhub.com/best-geforce-gt-1030/
Hello Verma,
The MSI is a very desirable choice but there are rumours that it does not work in systems with legacy bios. That you can only use most of this graphic cards in UEFI systems. Can you confirm this information, because I am still stuck with legacy bios for some time to come.
Thank You!
Which MSI model are you talking about?
I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre with a i5 3470, 2×4 gb ddr3 and the psu is 240w. I put a 1050ti low profile and it works pretty good. No losses due the psu. Go for it.
i made it and i am really happy, works great! thanks!
Glad to hear that. Congrats!
That’s pretty sad, because then my GPU ist going to bottleneck the CPU hardly. So I should really look forward to buy a better PSU in future. I think until then I’ll stay with a GT1030. Thanks for your help
Hello sir i have gigabyte gtx 1050 2gb can you tell me whats the danger temperture of gtx 1050 i got 80 or 82 in games my all drivers and windows is update
my specs :
intel i5 4590
8gb ram
gtx 1050 2gb
450 watt antec psu
Anything over 87 degrees is too hot.
so its safe now ?
Yes, it is.
Hi, im i have a 300W PSU, im looking for the Best GTX 1650 GDDR6 without External Power, my question is,
the best Best GTX 1650 GDDR5 without External Power is MSI GeForce GTX 1650 AERO ITX 4G OC (GPU Boost Clock of 1620 MHz)
the best Best GTX 1650 GDDR6 without External Power is MSI GeForce GTX 1650 D6 VENTUS XS OC (GPU Boost Clock of 1740 MHz)
which of them could have a better performance?
Since both doesnt require 6pin conector, i need the best option for a low profile budget build, but the boost in the GDDR5 Option is bigger than the gpu boost in GDDR6 (1740 boost in GDDR5 VS 1620 boost in GDDR6 )
Thanks in advance.
Are you looking for a low profile model because these are not low profile GTX 1650 models.
I’m just looking the Best model without pci conector, ir doesnt mstter the size, but gddr5 hace faster turbo Boost than gddr6, thats My question, which to choose
Well, it does not matter that much as the performance difference is almost negligible. Get the cheaper one.
Kindly suggest me a laptop under 45k INR which can be used for coding and basic CAD etc.
I would suggest HP 15s-du1064TU (Core i3, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD+1TB HDD, Windows 10, MS Office, 15.6-inch display)
